A Complete Guide

Finding a bra that fits beautifully and feels effortless starts with understanding your shape.

Every body is different, and the right bra shape should work with your natural curves. At Simone Perele, women should never have to choose between comfort and beauty, and that's the same principle that can guide you when choosing the right shape for your body.

This guide walks you through the signature bra shapes and how to identify which one may suit you best, so you can feel comfortable and confident every day. You can also explore our full Bra Shape Guide to see each silhouette in more detail.

Understanding Your Natural Shape

Before choosing a bra shape, it helps to understand your bust type.

Consider how your bust sits naturally, whether it is fuller at the bottom, evenly distributed, or fuller at the top.

Take note of your band size and cup volume too, as these both play a role in how a bra shape will sit on your body. A well fitted bra should sit flat against your ribcage, with straps that stay in place without digging in, and cups that fully encase the bust without gaping or spilling. While we always recommend having a professional bra fitting with one of our fit specialists in store, we understand this isn't always possible. If you are unable to visit us in person, you can take your own measurements at home as a helpful starting point using a soft tape measure.

To find your band size, wrap the tape measure around your ribcage, directly under your bust, keeping it level and snug but not tight. To find your bust size, measure around the fullest part of your bust, again keeping the tape measure level.

Once you understand these basics, you can begin exploring which of our signature silhouettes will offer the best support and shape for you. See our Bra Shape Guide for more information on each shape.

How to Choose the Right Shape for You

Choosing the right bra shape comes down to a combination of your natural bust shape, the necklines and outfits you wear most often, and how much support and structure you prefer day to day. If you often wear low or plunging necklines, a plunge or half cup shape may suit you best. If comfort and softness are your priority, a soft cup or bralette may be the better fit. For those who want maximum coverage and support, a full cup shape offers the reassurance of being fully encased.

It's also worth remembering that your shape needs may change depending on the occasion. You might reach for a soft cup or bralette for everyday wear, while a push-up or strapless shape may better suit an evening out or a special event.

The Importance of Proper Fit

Beyond choosing the right shape, ensuring the correct fit is essential.

Every body is unique, and there is no single bra shape that works for everyone. By understanding your natural shape, the necklines and outfits you wear most, and the level of support you need, you can find a bra shape that feels as good as it looks. At Simone Perele, our signature silhouettes are designed with meticulous attention to detail, so that whichever shape you choose, you can feel comfortable, supported and beautifully you. Visit our Bra Shape Guide to browse each silhouette and find the one that suits you best.

A bra that is well fitted should never dig into your shoulders, ride up at the back, or leave gaps in the cup. The band should sit firmly but comfortably around your ribcage, doing most of the work to support the bust, while the straps simply keep everything in place. If you are unsure of your size, it is worth having a professional fitting to ensure you are wearing the correct band and cup size, as this can significantly change how a bra shape sits and feels on your body.

Caring for the fit of your lingerie also extends to how you wash and store it. Hand washing in mild water and laying garments flat to dry helps preserve the shape and elasticity of the fabric, ensuring your bra continues to fit and support you as intended for longer.
